Located on the campus of Reinhardt University, the Funk Heritage Center creates an immersive experience that connects local history to the culture of North Georgia. The mission of the Funk Heritage Center is to tell the story of the early Appalachian Settlers and Southeastern Indians through educational programming and the collection, care and exhibition of art and artifacts.
Whether you choose a independent self-guided tour or a guided group tour, you will be able to enjoy exhibits of Indian and Settler's cultures. Visitors are able to enjoy the Bennett History Museum, the Southeastern Indians film, the Hall of Ancients with interactive exhibits, Sellers Collection of Historic Hand Tools, and the Rogers Contemporary American Indian Art Gallery. You may also want to visit the Appalachian Settlement and enjoy a nature walk on the Lou Reeta Barton Northcutt Walking Trail and Native Garden.
Adult groups may arrange to have lunch at the W. Frank and Evelyn J. Gordy Center, the campus dining and meeting facility, on the Reinhardt campus while student tours are able to enjoy outdoor picnics in the open field next to the facility.
